On Thursday evenings you can enjoy free acoustic jam sessions in Horseshoe Bend Park in nearby McCaysville, from 6:00 PM to dusk. Expect to hear the best of gospel, bluegrass, country and folk music while picnicking along the beautiful Toccoa River. There’s a small park for the kids. Just bring your picnic supper, lawn chairs or blanket, and maybe a fishing pole. It’s a great family outing.
On Friday nights you can run up to Blairsville and attend their concert series . The music starts at 7:00 PM and you’ll find it at the Old Courthouse on the square in the downtown area. The shows feature mountain music and are an hour long. The concerts are sponsored by the Union County Historical Society. You can call (706) 745-5493 to get more information.
