North Georgia Cabin Renovation Continuing

Friday, January 29th, 2010

We announced last November the final phase of our renovation of the WhiteWater rental cabin near Blue Ridge, Georgia. While we’re working hard to get it ready for anxious guests as soon as possible, our January 1st deadline was pipedream it seems.

But the final phase is proceeding, albeit a bit slowly. This newest addition to our line-up of mountain rental cabins is a three bedroom, three bath enclave nestled along Fightingtown Creek. It includes many modern amenities like granite countertops, two indoor wood burning fireplaces, an outdoor patio with a hot tub and more.

The amenities are one thing…the view is quite another dimension altogether. WhiteWater sits among a dense forest of rhododendrons and hemlocks overlooking the creek, which is loaded with trout.

We require you stay at least three nights at WhiteWater and pay a $150 security deposit. While we’ve missed our January 1st deadline, we’re hoping to have it ready for rent by this summer.

Check back with us periodically for updates on this exquisite mountain rental cabin in the north Georgia mountains. We’re anxiously trying to get it ready for this year’s vacation season.

Intimately Explore the Wonders of the North Georgia Mountains

Rental cabin vacations offer a variety of activities for much deserved rest and relaxation. I’ve found that hiking is one of those activities that truly can provide that.

Hiking is an activity that unlocks the true character of a natural place like the southern Appalachian Mountains. Our rental cabins are only a short distance from some of the best hiking trails around…trails that allow you to see the mountain countryside undisturbed, as nature intended it to be.

Not only do you get some great exercise, you get to see some amazing views that only those willing to make the trek get to see.

Blue Ridge, Georgia and Fannin County is surrounded on three sides by the Chattahoochee National Forest where you can find hiking trails ranging from very easy to strenuous.  In fact, Springer Mountain in the southern part of the county is the beginning of the famed Appalachian Trail, a 2,000 mile path that runs all the way to Maine!

Fortunately, you don’t need to hike 2,000 miles to experience nature’s wonders. The Lake Blue Ridge Trail is a 0.6 mile loop around the lake and is a great trail for beginners because it’s flat.

Or for a more strenuous hike up a mountain, there are several options from the easy-to-moderate trail at Green Mountain to the more strenuous Benton-MacKaye Trail at Tipton Mountain. If you’ve got all day, the Stanley Gap Trail takes you high up on Rocky Mountain where it then descends into Stanley Gap.

So get the full experience of the mountain air and exquisite views during your stay in our North Georgia rental cabins. While it takes a little effort, seeing places not many see along with the satisfaction of a good day of physical activity will no doubt delight.

See you on the trail!

It’s likely you will want to get out at least one night during your stay in a north Georgia mountain cabin…why not take in dinner and then catch a show at Blue Ridge’s community theater?

Our community theater here in Blue Ridge is something we’re extremely proud of. Catch shows you thought were exclusive to Broadway without the hustle and bustle of New York City. Patrons come from miles around to see what’s brewing at the theater.

Blue Ridge Community Theater is just that – a place in the community where people come together to perform family friendly shows and plays for their community. And when you’re staying at one of our north Georgia rental cabins, you can bet you’re part of the community.

Show times are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 along with a matinee on Sundays at 2:00. Theater doors open 30 minutes before show time.

For 2010, the theater is featuring comedies and will be performing Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig from February 12th to March 7th.  Show times for other performances this year are: May 7th – May 30th, August 13th – September 5th and November 4th – November 28th.

The Blue Ridge Community Theater is conveniently located at 2591 East First Street in Blue Ridge and is only a quick drive from our north Georgia Mountain cabins.
